It’s been said by some people lately that the reason I have a respectable number of followers is because I’m female. And after looking through and seeing that probably about 75% of my Tumblr followers are male, I’m starting to feel like I was too quick to spit out “that’s ridiculous” at my accuser.
Girls, what do you think? Do you have a largely male entourage courtesy of Tumblr? Does it outnumber the female following?
Is it because of the disparity in the numbers of male / female Tumblrs in general, or have I somehow managed to manipulate my content to somehow portray myself as Tumblbait.
A lot of guys follow me. I’m not sure why, though. Either there are a larger number of male tumblrs, or something about my content tends to draw in the mens. (Maybe it’s all the Star Wars.) The only thing I’ve really noticed about most of the people who follow me, regardless of gender, is that we all tend to have fairly similar content on our tumblrs. I think it’s probably just like interests.
I’m thinking the whole Tumblettes link at the top of the front page has something to do with it. Not long ago I suggested Tumboys, but no one heard me. Oh, and Starwars boo. You need more stuff about Transformers or possibly 8 bit Nintendo.
